What is
Hair PhotoRejuvenation Therapy?
PhotoRejuvenation Therapy is the use
of light to restore more youthful appearances. A unique form of
PhotoBioMedicine (PBM), it uses Low Intensity Red Light for biostimulation.
PBM is used to heal wounds, treat pain such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome,
reduce pain and healing time for sports injuries and many other
applications. PBM has been used in Europe and Asia for decades and is
now available in the United States.
How Does PhotoRejuvenation Therapy Work?
Research has shown that
exposing the scalp to red light increases blood flow. Improved
microcirculation is thought to increase the flow of nutrients to the
hair root or bulb; thus reinvigorating it, kind of like giving water and
plant food to a drooping flower. Direct stimulation of hair
producing cells have also been reported.
What kind of results can I expect?
Doctors have reported that 85%
to 90% of the people treated with PBM are satisfied in general. More
than half feel there hair looks thicker and fuller.
Will
I feel anything?
You will NOT feel the
light. You will notice a flow of room temperature air around your head.
Are there any side effects?
There are no known adverse
side effects.
Does Hair
Rejuvenation work for everyone?
People treated properly with
PBM reports very high levels of satisfaction. They believe their hair
looks thicker and fuller. Many said the hair shaft becomes thicker,
more elastic and stronger. However, the effect varies based on how long
hair thinning has occurred. Hair that has been dormant for years
generally does not respond as well as hair that has recently become
dormant. Beginning sooner is better.
When Will I see
an effect?
In most cases, the patient sees notable
improvement in four to six months. In case of rapid thinning, a change
may be noticed more quickly. Several reports have indicated that
patients see an improvement in three to eight weeks with more than half
saying their hair looks and
feels thicker after six weeks to six months.
Does Total Hair
Renewal
effect hair loss?
Yes, most patients who continue therapy past six
months find that it slows hair loss, stimulates growth and makes each
hair shaft bigger contributing to a thicker, fuller, more youthful
appearance. Studies have shown hair growth at eight weeks is greater than most hair transplant procedures.
