INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE- SKIN

The Reneuvo Soft BEAM Rejuvenator is an innovative personal photocosmetic instrument used to improve the appearance and fitness of skin quickly and safely through photobiostimulation. 

 Based on LED technology studied and tested by NASA, it uses safe levels of cool red light to stimulate proper cellular function and accelerate normal body activities. 

 The Soft BEAM Rejuvenator improves the appearance, feel and fitness of skin by increasing collagen formation. This reduces fine lines and pore size, increases skin firmness and tonality and improves the look of healing wounds.  It reduces the “red” appearance of a variety of skin blemishes including pimples, mild acne, small cuts, insect bites, cold sores and fever blisters.  Multiple, serial applications are required for initial results followed by maintenance applications.

 The technology behind this new cosmetic treatment began forty years ago as physicians and scientists researched the effect of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on wound healing.  The large lasers used initially have been replaced largely by smaller and safer light sources.  The most recent is Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that emit very low levels of incoherent light of one color. 

 Treatment with LEDs is called Low Intensity Light Therapy (LILT).  Millions of people have been treated with LLLT or LILT without a significant adverse effect being reported.  Low intensity means the power is measured in milliWatt (one milliWatt is one-thousandth of a watt) and cannot be felt.

 General Discussion.

Mode of Action
The Reneuvo Soft BEAM Rejuvenator is a cosmetic LILT device that uses 660nm red light to improve the appearance of a variety of skin conditions. Treating tissue with the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator activates different cellular responses.  Since the effect starts at the cellular level, it may take a little time for results to be seen.  However, most skin conditions should start to look better in about half the normal time.  If conditions do not look better within three-four days, please consult your physician.  Changes in fine lines and scars may take longer- up to eight weeks.  You may want to take photographs before treatment because changes may be too gradual to appreciate fully without a reference photo. 

Low Intensity Light Therapy has several effects on tissue.  It acts on the mitochondria in cells to release more adenosine triphosphate (ATP) or the basic energy agent to cell activity. It increases blood flow and can cause new blood vessel growth. It can reduce some skin reddening by inducing a cytokinase release by macrophages and it can increase collagen formation and accelerate fibroblast activity.

 Applying the right amount of light is important.  Too little light has no effect and too much inhibits effectiveness.  Applying the correct amount is important.  Also, the effect is cumulative so improvement continues after repeated applications.  However, if treatments are too close or frequent, this cumulative effect can be detrimental if the total cumulative energy becomes inhibitive.

 All of the skin conditions for which the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator can be used may reappear; however, the recurrences should be less frequent and of less severity.

 Uses. 

• Fine lines, large pores, photoaging, small scars, and wrinkles
The Soft BEAM Rejuvenator may help improve the appearance of fine lines, large pores, photoaging, small scars, and wrinkles.

Application: Apply the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator directly to the skin.  On larger areas, estimate the application time by placing it on the area without overlapping.  To determine the application time, multiple the time per area by the number of placements.  Applying a thin layer of clear aloe make movement easier. Slowly move the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator uniformly over the entire area to deliver even light across it, use light pressure.  When using near the eye, keep the instrument over the surrounding bone and close the eye.  DO NOT use directly over the eye. 

 • Acne
Acne can vary greatly in severity from person to person.  The Soft BEAM Rejuvenator may improve the appearance of acne.  In cases of severe acne, see a dermatologist.  It will not prevent occurrence or alter the acne’s normal course.  However, consistent use should have a beneficial effect on inflammation.

Application: If the spots have recently appeared and are open or pus filled, hold the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator about one centimeter from the spots.  If the spots are dry or closed, than the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator can be placed directly against the skin.  For small areas, treat two or more sites.  For large areas, such as the back, treat up to ten sites. 

• Blemishes (Pimples or Zits)
The appearance and duration of blemishes such as pimples or zits can be improved by the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator.

Application: Hold the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator close to or on the blemish. 

 • Lip/Fever Blisters, Cold Sore/ Inflammation of the mucous
membrane of the mouth (canker sores or aphthous ulcers)
Lip/fever blisters or cold sores may appear on the lips, gums, or corner of the lips.  They are so common that 70% to 80% of all adults have them.  Spread through droplets or direct contact, they are often contacted in childhood.  They are dormant most of the time but may be activated by stress, physical over-exertion and/or exposure to high level of UV light.  The Soft BEAM Rejuvenator may improve their appearance within days.  Canker sores or aphthous ulcers in the gum or cheek may response more slowly.

Application: Hold the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator close to or on the affected area.

 • Inflammation of the angle of the mouth, chapped lips, chafed skin
If these conditions do not clear quickly, their appearance may be improved with the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator.

Application: Hold the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator close to the affected area.  Do not hold it directly against the skin.

 The LEDs used in this instrument are incoherent light sources and do not pose an eye hazard like lasers do. However, care should be taken to NOT shine the light directly into the eye or to look directly into the light.  DO NOT shine the light at another person.  When using the Instrument near the eye, keep the instrument over the surrounding bone and close the eye. DO NOT use directly over the eye. 

The light from the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator does not heat tissue.  However, the LEDs do get warm just like light bulbs.  If they become uncomfortable, move the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator around slightly or hold it just above the tissue and increase the time by five seconds (in contact applications). 

CAUTION: Do not use on any mole.  If you have an irregular shaped mole or one that is changing shape, see a dermatologist immediately.

Do not use over the thyroid gland (around the windpipe).  Do not
use over the abdomen if pregnant.

Guidelines for the Cosmetic Use of the Soft BEAM Rejuvenator

*  For large areas like the cheek, count the number of times that the instrument must be placed on it for coverage. 
Multiply the seconds per site by the number of placements to determine the time for the area.
 

• Contact means the instrument is pressed firmly against the skin.

• Close/No Contact means holding the instrument as close to the skin as is practical without actually touching it.

• Contact with Barrier means using a sterile or clean transparent barrier between the instrument and the contact point. Wrap tightly in a cling film such as Saran Wrap.

• Allow at least four hours between applications when multiple applications a day as indicated.

Electrical.

The Reneuvo Soft BEAM Rejuvenator is a low voltage, DC product that poses little electrical risk.  Normal electrical precaution should be taken.  These include:

• DO NOT operate it while in a wet or moist area.

• DO NOT contact moist tissue directly without a moisture barrier (cling wrap)
  between the instrument and the tissue.

• DO NOT immerse in fluid.

• DO NOT put fluid into instrument.

 Batteries.

Batteries need to be replaced after 100-120 minutes of use to insure an appropriate amount of light.  Please dispose of used batteries appropriately to avoid environmental pollution.

 Cleaning.

• Clean the instrument regularly with an isopropyl alcohol wipe.  Keep lens clean.

• Clean immediately following any use in which it touches moist infected or open lesions.

• Clean thoroughly before use by another person.

• To reduce cleaning, us a cling wrap like Saran wrap over the LEDs. 

 Storage.

Store the Reneuvo Soft BEAM Rejuvenator in a safe dry place where children and other unauthorized users cannot reach it

Limited Warranty
 Reneuvo Inc (Reneuvo) warrants to the first retail purchaser that the Reneuvo Soft BEAM Rejuvenator covered by this limited warranty, if purchased and used in the United States, conforms to the manufacturer’s specifications and will be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use, for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.   

For warranty service, you must provide proof of the date of the original purchase.  Reneuvo shall not be responsible for service or performance problems resulting form improper or lack of maintenance, from misuse or abuse or from damage caused by fire, flood, storm, or lightening.  If a claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced, you shall be held responsible for the costs incurred. Reneuvo’s sole responsibility under this expressed warranty shall be, at Reneuvo’s sole option, to replace or repair the product or part with a similar product or part, or to refund the purchase price.  Replacement product or parts may be new or reconditioned.  Reneuvo warrants any replacement or reconditioned product or part for a period of ninety days or until the end of the original warranty period, whichever is longer.  All product or parts that are replaced become the property of Reneuvo.

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE- HAIR

HAIR PhotoJuvenation™ Instructions
 

 Your treatment session will be quite short – about one minute. 

1. Running a comb from the forehead through to the back of the head until the hairs allow uniform easy movement of the comb from front to back.
2. Position the comb on one side of the head with the activated SoftBEAM Rejuvenator next to the comb so that it trails the comb though the hair. Move the comb and SoftBEAM Rejuvenator through the hair in at a uniform, medium pace. Keep the head as flat to the scalp as possible to maximize absorption.

3. At the end of the back stroke, move the comb and SoftBEAM Rejuvenator to the front and repeat the movement next to the previous stroke.
4. Repeat until you have covered the entire scalp.  If you finished too soon, repeat the strokes until the time is up.
5. Do NOT worry if you miss a small strip.  The light has both a local and area effect.

SoftBEAM Rejuvenator Hair PhotoJuvenation Application Schedule 

You should repeat the above application according to the following schedule.

• Three times per week for four weeks

• Two times per week for four weeks

• Once per week for four weeks

• Once every other week from then on.

 SoftBEAM Rejuvenator Maintenance

If your hair seems to touch the LEDs recessed into the head, place a cling wrap such as Saran Wrap over the head.  If you see oil or debris on the LEDs, wipe them with an alcohol wipe.

Store your SoftBEAM Rejuvenator in the leatherette covered, metal case.

 NOTE: Blinking lights ONLY indicate that the batteries are low.  There is nothing wrong with the unit.
